Registered Nurse


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides private duty in home nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process
  • Seeks and obtains sufficient information necessary to function effectively in health care setting
  • Assist patient with activities of daily living
  • Provides and maintains safe environment for patient
  • Initiates CPR and institutes other emergency procedures when necessary
  • Accepts responsibility of assignment to perform specialized procedures only when qualified with specialty training, proven competency, clinical background, and expertise
  • Performs within limits of preparation and experience
  • Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patient condition
  • Submits completed documentation of the care given within established time parameters
  • Uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently
  • Participates in quality improvement activities of the agency
  • Attends patient care conferences as requested
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development, maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-services
  • Assesses and evaluates patient s status by reviewing and implementing plan of care, regularly evaluating patient needs and informing clinical supervisor of revisions needed to plan of treatment
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physician
  • Initiates and applies preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing procedures and techniques, maintains communication regarding client care with physician and clinical supervisor
  • Communicates to physicians any changes in patient s condition
  • Demonstrates high degree of commitment to customer service and quality care provisions
  • Completes other duties as assigned or requested
  • Keeps all records and information about the patient confidential
  • Rotate weekend assignment if hired as full time employee
  • Qualifications


  • Currently licensed as practical or vocational nurse in state of Michigan
  • Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing
  • Minimum one year experience in hospital or long term facility
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and principles
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or GAHC policy
  • Has satisfactory references from previous or current employers and/or professional peers
  • Competency/Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Competent in provision of nursing care
  • Knowledgeable of nursing assessment and evaluation skills
  • Knowledgeable of documenting nursing care
  • Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations

  • Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
